In the mid-to-late 1980s, Harvard-educated David Raab was Vice President of List Research, supervising statistical analysts and the relationship between the marketing and IT departments for The Franklin Mint.
This led to the foundation of Raab Associates, independent consultants specializing in marketing technology evaluation and analytics. Over 30 years later, Raab Associates continues to offer its services, providing guidance for 1,000 global clients across the retail, financial services, communications, travel and other industries.
As a respected veteran and expert of the MarTech world, David Raab is a productive contributor to the industry media, regularly contributing to the likes of Martech Advisor and Customer Think, as well as his own RaabGuide and Customer Experience Matrix blogs.
In 2016, David founded his latest endeavor – the Customer Data Platform Institute (CDPI). Designed as a vendor-neutral education project to help marketers build a unified customer view, the CPDI has become the foremost destination for research, news and discussion on the topic of Customer Data Platforms.
The rapid growth of the CDPI has seen the organization attract over 20 global CDP vendors. This positions David as the champion of an industry predicted to be worth $1bn by 2019.
