JOIN Digital, BlueVenn’s inaugural online data marketing event, ended yesterday after two days and 15 informative sessions from 16 industry experts. The marathon event ran across Wednesday November 15 and Thursday 16, with each day screening back-to-back live sessions to hundreds of marketing and data professionals from across the globe.
If you missed it, you can catch the whole of JOIN Digital 2017 on-demand here.
Primarily, the event was an opportunity to share topics around customer analytics, campaign management, Customer Data Platforms, lifecycle marketing, identity resolution and more. This saw JOIN Digital 2017 host webinars from a number of BlueVenn’s friends and collaborators.
On Day One, this included a session from marketing technology specialist and Customer Data Platform (CDP) Institute founder David Raab. As a foremost authority on CDPs, David discussed what they are, how they differ from solutions they are often confused with, and importantly why they can benefit your business.
Following David was Alex Guest, from BlueVenn partners and data enrichment company Full Contact. In his presentation, Alex gave viewers an intimate tour of his online identity, and how brands had successfully (and unsuccessfully) used personalized marketing in an attempt to communicate with him.
Later in the day, Marketing Manager Angie Lyons discussed how the use of a Single Customer View has benefited subscriber growth at news media publishers GateHouse Media, one of the largest publishers of locally-based media in the United States.
Day Two was an opportunity for registrants to hear an interesting discussion about spreading positivity online from social media guru Amy Jo Martin. Her enjoyable session regaled listeners with tales about some of her high profile clients, including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal.
This was followed by an insightful look into the important world of identity resolution. Here, Paul Chachko, CEO of data onboarding company Throtle, talked through the value of linking identities across devices, and how identity resolution can append extra data to a Single Customer View for even greater depth of insight.
Ryan Phelan, VP of email marketing platform Adestra kicked off JOIN’s afternoon sessions. Ryan talked us through the continuing relevance of email in his session titled ‘Putting Email Back in the Boardroom’.
JOIN’s final partner webinar came from Daniel Williams, CEO of Leap Media Solutions. Daniel discussed how Leap Media’s work with BlueVenn has helped data-driven acquisition and growth campaigns.
Of course, JOIN Digital 2017 was also an occasion for registrants to get an in-depth look at the BlueVenn software. The event included a schedule of in-house sessions, describing how BlueVenn can be used to create effective, relevant cross-channel marketing campaigns.
Consultants Jim Kelly and Jeremy Bender were first to start, with an explanation of the company’s over-reaching ‘X1X’ vision: infinite data sources, consolidated into a single, central decision platform and the executed across infinite channels.
Going into closer detail, BlueVenn VP of technology Chris Hares joined consultant Matt Dimond to demonstrate the latest features of the BlueVenn software, as well as shed light onto the exciting new development for the future of the platform.
Digging deeper still into the functionality of the software, Matt held a further two sessions on Day One. The first explored how BlueVenn enables the creation and deployment of omnichannel customer journeys, while the second showed how BlueVenn creates unified data to maintain a unified, persistent customer experience.
On Thursday, BlueVenn started and ended the day with a webinar from principal consultant Jim Kelly. His opening session, ‘Transitioning from Linear Campaigns to Customer Journey Optimization’, discussed the nature of the customer journey, and explored concepts including cross journey communication, journey intervention and the future of marketing automation.
Eight hours of live presentations later, Jim (accompanied by BlueVenn VP Sales, Andrew Smith) closed the event with his thought-provoking presentation, ‘Single Customer View: A Mythical Beast or the Holy Grail of Marketing?’ Here, Jim shared some of his delightful analogies to explain the complex construction of a Single Customer View database in a way that anyone can appreciate.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everybody who registered to take part and listen in to our first ever JOIN Digital event. Even a single live webinar can be fraught with challenges, so I’m proud to have hosted 13 sessions over two days without incident,” says BlueVenn Marketing Director Anthony Botibol.
“I’d also like to express my thanks to Adestra, Throtle, GateHouse Media, Full Contact, Leap Media, Amy Jo and David Raab for their contribution in making this happen. I’m already thinking how we can make JOIN 2018 even bigger and better!”
If you did not have the opportunity to catch JOIN Digital live, every event was recorded and will very soon be available to watch on-demand. This will enable all those who registered previously and new registrants to enjoy the sessions at their leisure.
